I would like to write about what I see as a spirits view through my eyes of the happening in Haiti.

First and foremost, I think of the friends and families affected, both in Haiti and from other parts of the world. 

It is an occurrence which has such a number of effects for many people and I also send out my strongest, most positive thoughts to support those involved, assisting and affected by this immense world event. 

As with many events, lives of people are touched. The events can be within a small circle such as a family struggle, as big as the effects of this earthquake and of many variations in between. 

I start to think about the purpose that people who are touched by these events have in their lives. Such an experience can create a life purpose for people as they are involved or inspired to give of their abilities. There have been many stories we have all heard. Crisis that touches ones life can be a stepping stone to something one finds within oneself, that may identify with one's personal greatness or highlight value one can give from who they are. 

Many people may question the reason for such an experience to happen. 

I say that with the intensity of such an catastrophic experience comes the equally, often transformational, intensity of the power and ability of mankind. People rise to the occasion, showing strengths, kindness, giving and abilities to do things "bigger than themselves". There is a universal power that lives with and within man.

I would go one step further to think about the belief I have that we are all souls on this earth and through experiences with each other, we learn, grow and create value.

So it raises the question of purpose. Is there a purpose for the experience? I believe all experiences have a purpose for every human being that is touched by it. The experience of suffering for one being may be one purpose that allows another soul to learn their strengths and abilities by being in a situation where one has the opportunity to assist or to give.

So, out of an event of serious crisis, suffering and want there can be seen miracles of strength, personal power, gifts, abilities and life changing decisions to challenge someone to excel within themselves.

I would ask that even though you may have feelings of empathy in the suffering and pain  for the people involved in this crisis that you also have thoughts of gratitude and awe of the power we show as human beings to make a difference in this world. Thoughts of love and gratitude are very powerful and have the added ability of creating more powerful, positive thoughts and energy.  Such thoughts also keep us healthy and strong, important things we need to be when we may be called on to give of ourselves.
