Q1. What is Natural Healing?
Natural healing is the process where the body
attains a progressive level of energy or strength so it can expel the toxins
causing the disease or rebalance an imbalance. There may be many levels of
healing as a person works through a natural healing process. The body
will go through levels of cleansing of toxins and rebuilding strength to become
progressively stronger and balanced.
Q2. What
Are Disease Symptoms?
Symptoms that the body exhibits, whether just mild discomfort or serious disease symptoms are basically a message that something is not OK with the body. Physically this can be some sort of irritant, toxin or waste material that is affecting normal health functioning. The body tries to eliminate this thing that makes dis-ease through an elimination channel of the body. These channels are the colon, urinary system, lungs or skin. Symptoms show up as colds, diarrhea, fevers and many other symptoms.
Drugs may be an important choice when there is a crisis situation and symptoms become life threatening. Sometimes when a disease has progressed to a point where the body would not be able to create enough energy to start healing, drugs are useful to stop disease effects which may cause irreversible damage. The disease energy or effects need to be controlled. Once the body is under control and even may be reversing some of its illness condition, then herbs and other natural “foods” can be used to increase the health of the body to the point where it can regain health and start gaining strength and healing.
Q4. What are Herbs?
Herbs are plants or
vegetables where any part of the plant is used. They were often part of a diet
in older times as actual foods. Today we use them more as seasoning and as
herbal treatments. They have been taken out of our diets over time as preference
has been given to bland food diets.
Q5.
How do Herbs
work?
Different herbs have biochemical structures that have been found to have certain effects on the body. For example Ginger seems to have the effect of reducing nausea. With these effects, herbs can be used as tools that help the body expel toxins by creating the effect they have on the body. Herbs have properties of astringency, warming, toning, loosening or soothing. When the correct property is used with a condition, the body can recreate balance. With balance comes the ability to strengthen energy and then expel toxins which are causing the symptoms. Repeated use of herbs over time, then result in healing, usually in stages and sometimes as a healing crisis.
Q6. How does Western Medicine differ from Holistic Medicine?
In my opinion where there are diseases in the body,
traditionally western medicine teaches to focus on the symptoms and works to
treat the body to alleviate the symptoms usually related to one specific part of
the body. The approach appears to be a focus that is very localized and drugs
are often used to suppress the symptoms or surgery considered for a specific
part of the body. Vary rarely does the patients mental or spiritual state get
discussed and the body as a whole is not seen as such. (I must give
credit today from my experience of younger physicians. I do find that more life
factors such as stress, diet and even alternative possibilities are now being
considered by doctors.
The holistic approach uses the symptoms as a signal from the body that something is in a stressed state and is reflecting in the physical body. Finding the cause of the signal is of utmost importance and it may be due to an emotional stress, state of mind or physical imbalance in some part of the body that may not even be showing the symptoms. A holistic practitioner will usually approach the whole body to try and find a solution that will bring the patient into a more balanced state of health, mentally, spiritually and physically so that the body strengthens and can then heal itself.
The body will heal from the head down, from the inside out and in the reverse order of disease. This will happen in stages, over time, and there would be times of strengthening when a person feels really good and times where symptoms would reoccur as the body released toxins with its increased energy.
This occurs when the body has enough strength to remove the underlying causes of disease, usually toxins. The body will use its energy to remove the toxins through one of the elimination channels such as the respiratory system, colon or skin. If often happens quite intensely as the body builds up energy over time and then attempts to cleanse with a big effort. Common examples of this are the flu or diarrhea.
Q9. What is Inflammation?
Inflammation is a tissue response to damage or irritation. The response usually involves heat, swelling and pain. These symptoms are due to the damaged area being surrounded by lymph fluid and proteins which are released in response to the damage. Fluid accumulation results in swelling which restricts the flow of oxygen and nutrients around the damaged tissue and causes an accumulation of toxic waste. Heat around the injury is due to the presence of free radicals (out of control molecules) made primarily of oxygen which burns the tissues.
Q10. What is Iridology?
It is a magnified analysis of certain characteristics of the eye to indicate tendencies toward genetic problems and conditions. The specific labeling of a certain disease cannot be done through this process because an individual may not have the disease even though the weaknesses are present. The eye also does not change much over the course of a lifetime to indicate shorter term states of health. Practitioners use this system as part of a patient analysis in conjunction with symptoms that the individual may have.
Q11. What is Kinesiology or Muscle Testing?
Kinesiology is the testing of the strength of the body energy through a muscle in the body. The human or body energy field will increase or strengthen when it interacts with something that is harmonious with it. It will also decrease or weaken when something disharmonious interacts with it. This strengthening or weakening reflects in the physical health of a person. This method of analysis of what is happening in the body is used by many alternative practitioners. It is a definitive and accurate way to determine what the individual is being affected by and what natural remedies or processes can be used to help with the healing process of the individual. Elements which affect our health can be from a physical source or from our own thoughts and emotions (the mind-body connection).
Q12. Why
is it Important
to Recognize
the Mind/Body
Connection?
The mind is the computer which directs the body. When the mind is occupied with stressful negative thoughts or statements, it has the effect of weakening the body. Weakened body energy can lead to illness as the body has less energy to cope with physical input and to continue functioning effectively. Positive thoughts work in an opposite manner, strengthening the body energy and its ability to function.
Q13.
What
is an Affirmation and how can it
Enhance
Healing?
An affirmation is a statement or positive words which raises a persons energy and is repeated to work at reprogramming the mind. Positive thoughts also automatically result in positive emotions which help strengthen the body energy. It may be used to replace a negative thought pattern or to enhance a positive focus for an individual.
Q14.
Why
does the Mind hold onto
Negative
Programming?
As
people, we are trained from early years to view things in life as possible
challenges and obstacles to overcome. Things are primarily viewed as a possible
problem and the connotation is that a problem may be stressful or negative. So
we pay more attention to and absorb negative programming through this training.
