Ear Coning or Candling

Ear coning is a simple and safe way of removing excess earwax and toxins from the inner ear and sinus passages.

How it Works ?

The ear candle is a hollow candle made from linen and dipped in beeswax. While lying on your side, the small end is placed in the ear and the large end is ignited like a candle. As the candle is burning,  the hollow candle  and flame create a vacuum within the candle which then draws the excess earwax, dust, dirt and old infection deposits from the ear canal. The heat from the flame softens the wax and the smoke from the burning acts as an anti-bacterial as it moves through the ear, nasal and sinus cavities.

In addition to the removal of earwax, ear coning is considered to benefit hearing, smell, taste, and vision and color perception. It is also considered to help detoxify the sinus and lymph system and assist in reducing headaches.

It has been shown to:

  • Improve hearing
  • Open clogged sinus passages
  • Relieve plugged ears
  • Reduce headaches
  • Alleviate inner ear itching

An ear coning session usually takes 15 minute per candle and the number of candles used depends on the condition of the client's ear and sinus condition. The average session uses four candles, two in each ear. Clients report that the effects from ear coning lasts from 10 weeks to 4 months and usually return for treatments 2-3 times a year.

As a home use remedy, it is very simple to learn. Ear coning kits are available with instructions.
